The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced on Monday the rehabilitation of two locomotives (2815) and (2536) and put them in service to transport materials and oil derivatives through the railway.
The ministry said in a statement received (Mawazine News) a copy, that "the General Company for Iraqi Railways (one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport) has qualified the most number of locomotives in the factories Shalgip and Samawa and Basra to transport all cargo to increase transport capacity."
She added, "The engineering staff in the region of Samawah repaired the holidays in the locomotive (2815), the opposite of which is changing the direction of the locomotive where it was moving in only one direction was necessary," stressing that "the locomotive (2815) ready and sent to the southern region for loading" .
It is noteworthy that "the second German locomotive (2536) has been operating heating in the first and second cab, remove electrical leakage, as well as some faults inside the engine so that the two locomotives are ready to transport all materials serving the citizen through the extended railway networks to all provinces."
