Electricity announces the completion of the investment terminals Rumaila and Dhi Qar

The Ministry of Electricity announced, on Wednesday, that the Rumaila investment terminal will be near completion, while it has achieved advanced completion rates in the Dhi Qar power plant project, so that the two projects contribute by adding about 2250 MW to the system.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmad Al-Abadi, said in a statement reported by the official Al-Sabah newspaper, which was viewed by him / the information: “The General Company for Electric Energy Production in the southern region, and the owners of the Rumaila Gas Power Station, are continuing their work in installing the Rumaila Composite Investment Plant consisting of two units with a rate of 750 MW per unit. ”
Al-Abadi added, "The completion rate in this project has now exceeded 50 percent, as civil engineering work stages that include the installation of concrete bases and steel structures have begun," noting that "the completion period of the project is estimated at 36 months, according to the contract between the ministry and the implementing company."
He explained, "The technical and engineering staff in the Dhi Qar vehicle power plant project, in coordination with the American General Electric Company, continues to complete the technical and engineering work and reach it to advanced stages, stressing that the completion of this station will contribute to supplying the system with 750 MW."
He stressed that "the station is one of the strategic projects in the governorate because it will add (500) megawatts in the first stage, and (250) in the second stage, and this energy enables the ministry to increase the hours of processing, in addition to its contribution to providing new job opportunities for the people of Dhi Qar Governorate."
