Rashid said in a press statement: "These discussions did not succeed in softening the position of the Democratic Party, and the position of the Kurds still refuses to participate in the booth of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi."
Amin expressed his fear that the stubborn Kurdish stance towards voting to participate in the Allawi government would create a kind of political alignments, which ultimately do not serve the Kurds.
He explained: "The insistence of some political forces on nominating Allawi for the position of Prime Minister had negative returns rather than positive ones, and led to his opposition by some political parties."
