Iran and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint arbitration center with the aim of enhancing economic and trade cooperation.
And the official IRNA news agency reported that the head of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, "Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi" and a group of Iraqi businessmen received in Iraq today, Tuesday, the joint Iraqi-Iranian trade meeting.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, "Gholam Hussein Shafi'i" and the head of the Economic Committee of the Iranian Parliament, "Mohammed Reza Purabrahimi".
Al-Zuhairi said, "During the meeting, the ties of cultural relations between Iran and Iraq and the 1,400 km common border between the two countries will provide a fertile ground for strengthening economic relations between them in the service of common interests."
Al-Zuhairi added, "We are pleased to sign a joint memorandum because of its role in removing the obstacles that stand in the way of cooperation between the two countries."
For his part, "Shafi'i" said that the relations between Iran and Iraq are ancient and unprecedented in any country.
Shafei stated that the economies of the two countries are similar to each other and depend on oil exports, so it is possible to use the facilities and capabilities available to them in various industrial and agricultural fields, to strengthen relations more and more.
