[rtl]Baghdad - Iraq today:
The US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Wali Adimo, met with the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Alaq, to discuss the economic situation in Iraq and the government's plans to reform the economic and financial sector, and mutual commitment to anti-money laundering and terrorist financing measures.
The Deputy Secretary of State and Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the continued importance of the bilateral economic relationship between the United States and Iraq and shared their goal of strengthening the Iraqi economy.
The two sides discussed the economic challenges facing Iraq, including corruption, dependence on energy and exchange rate issues.[/rtl]
