    Baghdad Governorate confirmed, on Saturday, the acceleration of business in the four hospitals implemented in the capital, with the support of the Prime Ministry, while indicating a contract to purchase advanced medical equipment.
    The director of the Engineering Department in Baghdad Governorate, Haider Karim Ali, said, "Under the direct guidance of the Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Atta, the engineering cadres in Baghdad are supervising the four hospital projects currently underway, namely: Al-Hurriya Hospital with a capacity of 400 beds, Al-Fadhiliya Hospital and Al-Shaab Hospital, both of which have a capacity of 400 beds." 200 beds, and the expansion project of Al-Numan Hospital with a capacity of 75 beds.
    He pointed out, "The completion rate of Al-Hurriya Hospital is close to 55%, as the work accelerated in the recent period, after removing some obstacles and inclusion in Resolution 45 of 2018 regarding compensation and calculating new costs for the remaining devices and equipment, especially medical devices, while the completion rate in Al-Shaab Hospital reached 67%." ".
    He continued, "As for the completion rate in Al-Fadhiliyah Hospital, it is divided into two parts. The first is the main building of the hospital, which has reached 70% completion rate. The second section is the residential complex for doctors on an area of ​​​​4 thousand square meters, consisting of four buildings and 48 apartments, in which the completion rate reached 56%. The overall completion rate of the project is approximately 64%.
    He explained, "The pace of work in hospital projects has escalated in the recent period, due to the supportive decisions of the Prime Minister and with serious follow-up and in coordination with the governor," according to the official news agency.
    He pointed out that "the governorate has contracted with the national company and the German company Siemens to import special devices and medical equipment to equip hospitals, but their arrival will be delayed from 6 to 8 months."  
    And he stressed, "At the end of this year, as a maximum, it is possible to complete the works in the People's and Fadhiliya hospitals and put them into operation."
