Iraq loses hydroelectricity

{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Water Resources announced that most of the country's dams have stopped generating electric power (hydroelectricity).
"Because of the low level of water storage, most dams do not generate electricity. There is a problem in this aspect," Ali Radhi, the director general of dams in the ministry, told Al Furat News.
"Even the Mosul Dam at the present time does not generate energy, let alone the Samarra Dam," he added.
Rady said, "The issue of electric power generation is not a priority, but our priorities lie in increasing water storage to meet the requirements, especially for the upcoming summer season."
