    The popular and political circles in Iraq are awaiting the issuance of an arrest warrant against former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, following issues related to corruption and theft of public money, due to his facilitation of the seizure of $2.5 billion from tax secretariats during the government caretaker period, especially with the issuance of arrest warrants by the Iraqi judiciary. Four former officials, including a former finance minister, and close associates of the former prime minister.
    According to a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, a member of the investigation committee of the theft of the century, Representative Alia Nassif, a statement to / information /, that “the court specialized in the investigation of the theft of the century works professionally and accurately through the confessions of the accused and those involved in the deal, the latest of which was the arrest warrants issued yesterday against each of the Minister of Finance, Director of the Prime Minister's Office, Personal Secretary to the Prime Minister, and Media Adviser to the Prime Minister in the previous government.
    And she adds, "In the event that charges are proven against the four against whom investigation and arrest warrants were issued, former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi will be included in the charge because he is the first CEO according to the constitution and the law." .”
     
    The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Friday, the issuance of arrest warrants and investigations against a number of senior officials in the previous government on charges of facilitating the seizure of tax secretariat amounts.
    And she added, "The orders issued came against the background of the accusation of facilitating the seizure of tax secretariat amounts," pointing to "the issuance of orders to seize their movable and immovable funds."
    The statement did not mention the names of these people, but the matter is related to the former minister Ali Allawi, Raed Jouhi, director of the office of the former prime minister, private secretary Ahmed Najati, and counselor Mashreq Abbas, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

    In turn, the representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Karim Aliwi, demanded today, Saturday, the issuance of an arrest warrant against former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi on charges of corruption and embezzlement of funds. 
    Aliwi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma agency, "The Iraqi judiciary is required to issue arrest warrants against former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and his team on charges of corruption and embezzlement of funds during the caretaker period."
    He added, "Iraq witnessed, during Al-Kazemi's tenure, theft and smuggling of money in various ways and methods that his team close to him worked on."
    Aliwi pointed out, "The Al-Kazemi government, throughout its tenure, was unpatriotic and unfair, as it was marred by many corruption operations."
    He added, "The action taken by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, to cancel and invalidate the appointments that took place during the caretaker period, is correct and counts for him." End/25
