Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Regional Government announced, on Monday, the launch of monthly financial allocations for students of colleges and institutes.
The Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Twana Najaf, said during a press conference attended by Shafaq News Agency, that the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, approved the ministry's proposal regarding the disbursement of monthly allowances for students of colleges and institutes, totaling seven billion and 200 million dinars per month, according to the financial instructions. No. 51 of 2008.
And he indicated that "a sum of 40,000 dinars will be disbursed per month for each college or institute student who lives within the city in which he studies, and 60,000 dinars for a student from outside the city," stressing that "these allocations will be disbursed as of the current academic year."
