Economic platforms monitored the increase in the total number of oil and gas exploration rigs during last February, in 4 Arab countries led by Iraq, which is working during the current period to organize contracts to increase oil and gas production.
According to the American company Baker Hughes, the number of rigs exploring for oil and gas in the Middle East region rose to 327 rigs during the past month, an increase of 9 rigs from January 2023.
Iraq led the increase in oil and gas exploration rigs in the Arab world, with an increase of 7 rigs on a monthly basis, bringing the total to 62 rigs in February 2023; Of which there are only 59 oil rigs, and 3 platforms for oil and gas exploration together.
Oil drilling rigs in Kuwait also climbed to 25 platforms last month, compared to 23 rigs in January.
In the UAE, oil and gas rigs rose to 53 in Abu Dhabi in February, an increase of two rigs on a monthly basis, taking into account that there are 48 rigs out of this total for oil exploration only.
Oil and gas exploration platforms in Qatar witnessed an increase of 3 rigs, bringing the total to 12 rigs, according to the report, whose details were followed by the Energy Research Unit.
On the other hand, oil and gas rigs in Saudi Arabia decreased by two rigs, to reach 77 rigs, and decreased by one platform in the Sultanate of Oman, bringing the total to 50 rigs.
