Amending the electoral law disturbs the calm political atmosphere

The second reading of the "twin" law passed, which merged the legislative elections with the provincial council elections. This happened while less than 60 independent deputies and emerging blocs were raising signatures of rejection to the Presidency of Parliament to disrupt it at any cost. The result is that no one heard them, and that the draft that was written passed smoothly under the dome of Parliament, but the repercussions may open a door to disturb the political atmosphere in which the Sudanese Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a, had hoped to work in it for at least a year, devoting himself to his government plan and approach.
The objectors believed that the law does not represent the electorate, prevents them from choosing their own candidates, and gives the heads of the lists control over the participation of whomever they want.
The representative of the Independents bloc, Hamid al-Shibli, said: His bloc "demanded the Presidency of Parliament to remove the paragraph of the Provincial Council Elections Law from the agenda in order to listen to the opinion of national figures and involve emerging movements," noting that the two sessions and the two readings passed, without listening, sitting and discussing the reasons for our refusal to pass the law or the demands. .
Al-Shibli added, to "Al-Sabah": "The religious authority rejected the law, while there is no representation for the Sadrist movement after it had 75 parliamentary seats, and it is supposed to listen to this important segment within society, in addition to the rejecting masses in the demonstration squares," noting that " The previous law with multiple circuits according to a stage is a loyalty to the blood, the martyrs and the sacrifices of the absent.”
He pointed out that "the parliament's quorum was completed without the independents, and we registered our objection and our rejecting position and emphasized that proceeding with the approval of this law is a great disregard for society, and an underestimation of the masses," considering that "proceeding with this law will not create stability between the legislative authority and the citizen whose voice was ignored."

Regarding the draft itself, MP Al-Shibli explained that "the drafting of the law is poor and does not rise to the level of Iraqi law or the level of conformity with the constitution," promising "next steps with the help of independent national movements that will follow legal paths."
As for the independent MP, Haitham Fahd Al-Zarkani, he said: "The size of the representation of the emerging and independent blocs in Parliament does not give them the power to break the quorum of the session, despite the fact that we collected 70 signatures rejecting the amendment of the law, and 54 signatures to remove the paragraph from the agenda," pointing out that "the law robs the will of The street, given that the number of partisans in the country may reach 25 percent, while about 75 percent remain of the independents and the voices rejecting the large parties and lists.
Al-Zarkani added, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that "the total number of independent votes amounted to two million and 800 thousand votes, which is more than all the participating parties," noting that "the independents made two moves, the first was an attempt to break the quorum, and the second was a request to lift the paragraph of the law that was rejected by the presidency." Parliament".
The deputy questioned the quorum of the second reading session of the law, saying, “I do not believe that there is a complete quorum, and for this reason the vote was a violation of the internal order,” calling for “transferring the proceedings of the parliament session to amend the law to the media and the judiciary.”
