Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee announced amendments to the articles of the National Security Service Law, while it indicated that it will be different from the laws of other security agencies and give weight to the agency and its affiliates to take their correct role.
Committee member Mahdi Taqi al-Amerli said in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, “The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee has begun procedures for amending the articles and paragraphs of the National Security Apparatus Law, and the law will be different from the laws of other security services.”
He added, "There are many observations, and the National Security Law will witness a change in its articles."
Al-Amerli continued, “The amendments to the National Security Apparatus Law will give weight to the apparatus and its affiliates in order to take their effective role properly,” noting that “the law will give immunity to the work of the affiliates of the National Security Apparatus and the authority to take their role properly.”
