    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Tuesday (August 22, 2023), the Ministry of Oil announced that the tanker “Sumar” had received a load of (31) thousand tons, and that it would enter service next September.
The general manager of the Iraqi Oil Tanker Company, Ali Qais, said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", that "the technical team and the committee in charge of the company received today in China the new tanker (Sumer) with a tonnage of 31,000 tons, after completing the final inspections."
He added, "The tanker has sailed from China towards the Iraqi ports, and it is hoped that it will be launched next September."
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Oil Tanker Company concluded in 2020 a contract with a Norwegian company to build two tankers, each with a capacity of 31,000 thousand tons.
