Kurdistan Democratic Party member Idris Shaaban confirmed today, Thursday (July 18, 2024), that the region will remain neutral in any expected conflict in the region to distance itself from danger.
Shaaban said in an interview with Baghdad Today that "the Kurdistan Region wants to remain neutral in any regional or international conflict," indicating that "relations, whether with Washington or Tehran, will not be affected by the American or Iranian presidential elections."
He added, "The victory of the reformists in Iran is an internal Iranian affair. It is known that Iranian policy is fixed and strategic matters are in the hands of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. The region's relationship with the Islamic Republic will remain fixed, with an emphasis on good neighborly relations and the exchange of bilateral and economic relations."
The American MEMRI Observatory, which is close to the Israeli regime, revealed yesterday, Tuesday, the imminent occurrence of what it described as an "uprising" against the American presence in the region, launched from Iraq and Yemen, if Israel continues with its current plans to invade Lebanon.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli regime has been preparing for some time to carry out what it described as "military operations" deep inside Lebanon to target Hezbollah, despite the shortage of ammunition and weapons and the depletion of its army in Gaza, according to the description of the Israeli newspaper, The Jerusalem Post.
