    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani announced the success of the Arbaeen visit plan, and while the Al-Abbas's Holy Shrine confirmed that the number of visitors exceeded 21 million, Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari indicated that there is high fluidity in transporting visitors and we did not record any security incidents, while the Governor of Karbala, Nassif Al-Khattabi, explained that the governorate's municipality removed more than 270 thousand tons of waste.
    The Prime Minister said during a press conference held in the holy city of Karbala: The Arbaeen visit has become a title for historical adherence to the values ​​and principles left in us by the Husseini revolution.
    He added, "All Iraqis and their guests from all over the world do not deal with the Arbaeen visit as a passing event, but rather as a continuous state of communication, giving and generosity," adding, "We took the initiative to establish the Supreme Committee for the Arbaeen Visit to be the organizer and supervisor of the effort made to make the visit a success."
    He continued, "I renew my appreciation to the first host, the Iraqi citizen, for all the generosity and kindness we have found," indicating that "the Arbaeen pilgrimage is a national epic, and this success would not have been possible without the heroic performance of the security services in all their branches and formations."
    He praised "the Supreme Security Committee headed by the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari," appreciating "the local service and administrative institutions in the governorates and the formations of the various ministries."
    He added, "The Arbaeen pilgrimage is an opportunity to restore the spirit of all service teams to review the work, deal with obstacles and find solutions," praising "the great role of the governor of Karbala and the provincial council for their continuous efforts."
    He pointed out that "the government began working since the end of the last pilgrimage, not a few days ago, as it carried out many infrastructure works, including the rehabilitation of the Al-Mundhiriyah, Zurbatiyah and Al-Shaib crossings and the establishment of large exchange yards that had an important impact in facilitating the transportation of visitors."
    He continued, "We have made significant progress in implementing the Karbala-Najaf Metro project and have received bids from 3 international companies," noting that "the follow-up of the work at Baghdad International Airport is ongoing and has reached advanced stages and is expected to be completed next year."
    He stressed that "the national media has contributed significantly to covering the Arbaeen pilgrimage and conveying a bright image of a safe and stable Iraq," noting that "3.5 trillion dinars have been allocated to establish and implement 36 service projects related to the millions of pilgrimages, and those projects will begin in a few weeks."
    He pointed out that "one of the most important projects is the first circular ring road in Karbala from Al-Kafeel to Al-Salam Bridge, worth 480 billion dinars, in addition to the project to rehabilitate, expand and unify the design of the Najaf-Karbala road with a length of 80 km and a value of 179 billion dinars, in addition to the project to rehabilitate the Baghdad-Karbala road from Al-Dala Square to Checkpoint 54, in addition to the railway bridge, worth 91 billion dinars."
    He added, "The project of linking the holy Karbala with the expressway, worth 361 billion dinars, in addition to the construction of a bridge intersection on the holy Karbala - Najaf road at the airport entrance, worth 10 billion dinars, and the project of building a bridge in the industrial district in the holy Karbala, worth 17 billion dinars, and a bridge intersection in Al-Hussainiya on the holy Karbala road, worth 10 billion dinars."
    He continued, "The project of rehabilitating the Fadhiliya Bridge (concrete), worth 10 billion dinars, and the project of linking Najaf with the expressway, the first and second phases with the Kufa Bridge, worth 186 billion dinars, in addition to the maintenance of the Kut - Badra - Mehran road, the old passage, worth 26 billion dinars, and the rehabilitation of the second passage, Dabouni - Jassan, with a length of 60 km, worth 108 billion dinars."
    He added, "Other roads, expansions, corridors and rehabilitation of Diwaniyah-Najaf Ashraf were maintained, and the second corridor, the Suwayrah-Jableh expressway, was established with a length of 35 km and a value of 53 billion dinars, in addition to the expansion and rehabilitation of the Diwaniyah-Babylon road with a length of 25 km and a value of 48 billion dinars."
    He noted that "there are projects related to infrastructure in addition to road projects, including the establishment of the Karbala Holy Water Complex with an 80 km long pipeline to feed the Najaf Ashraf-Karbala Holy Road with a value of 750 billion dinars, and the Najaf Ashraf Razavi Water Construction Project with a value of 17 billion dinars, in addition to establishing water and ice bottling plants and extending a water pipeline from Kufa to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali."
    He explained, "There are projects for the shrine related to building cities for visitors with a value of 300 billion dinars, in addition to building service complexes in the border governorates and expanding near the upper courtyard and pedestrian bridges and organizing the squares."
    The Prime Minister stated that “these projects are on track to be implemented and within weeks the ministries and governorates will start their work.”
    He pointed out that there are problems that have affected the provision of electricity to citizens in general, stressing “the need for solutions to resolve energy bottlenecks, not treatments.”
    He pointed out that “the number of visitors is increasing,” stressing “the necessity of providing electricity, which is an essential service.”
    The Prime Minister directed “the Minister of Electricity to develop a plan to solve the energy problem.”
    For its part, the Holy Abbasid Shrine announced the number of visitors to the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, this year.
    The shrine said in a statement received by “Al-Zawraa”: “The number of visitors to the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, this year reached 21 million, 280 thousand, and 525 visitors.”
    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani praised the efforts of the security forces in securing the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and while stating that the Iraqi people deserve the best services, he recommended dedication and diligence in performing duty.
    For his part, the head of the Supreme Security Committee for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage and Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, announced that there is a high level of fluidity in transporting visitors, stressing that no security incidents were recorded during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
    Al-Shammari said during a press conference that “there is a high level of fluidity in transporting and dispatching visitors,” stressing that “the Arbaeen Pilgrimage did not record any security incidents.”
    He pointed out that “all roads leading to the holy Karbala Governorate have been secured, and we have conducted more than 90 preemptive operations.”
    Al-Shammari added, “We have made great efforts to protect visitors heading to Karbala,” noting that “security forces are still deployed along the roads to secure the reverse grouping,” stressing that “many security gaps have been addressed.”
    He stressed that “the number of traffic accidents during the Arbaeen pilgrimage during the current year 2024 is less than last year 2023, and the number of victims is small,” noting that “the number of visitors arriving from abroad exceeded three million and 700 thousand visitors.”
    He concluded by saying: “We thank Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for meeting all needs and flexibility in the movement of units, which helped us secure the pilgrimage.”
    In addition, the governor of Karbala, Naseef al-Khattabi, confirmed that all service departments submitted their plans for the Arbaeen pilgrimage early, while indicating that the governorate’s municipality removed more than 270 thousand tons of waste.
    Al-Khattabi said in a press conference, “We thank Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for his support and supervision of the million-person visits,” indicating that “preparations for the Arbaeen visit began since the end of the Arbaeen visit last year 2023.”
    He added that “all service departments submitted their plans early,” noting that “cooperation between the governorate and the ministries is ongoing, and the governorate was involved in all meetings related to the visit plans.”
