A senior Saudi security delegation arrives in Baghdad on Monday, headed by Deputy Interior Minister Ahmed Al-Salem, in a visit to Iraq is the first of its kind after the two countries signed an agreement to exchange prisoners, an issue that has been pending for about two years, it is hoped that the implementation will be followed by opening a new page in relations and major breakthrough in security cooperation between the two neighboring countries that link their border more than 800 kilometres in length, facing the risk of smuggling gangs, weapons, drugs and terrorism.
The two countries have recently signed in Jeddah once and the exchange of prisoners between the Saudi Interior Minister, Prince Muhammad bin Nayef, the Minister of Justice Hasan shammari in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi newspaper quoted on Saturday, Iraqi sources: Saudi prisoners were gathered in the Al-Rusafa prison in Baghdad, the fourth in preparation for deportation to Saudi Arabia.
They said: there is no definitive perception regarding sentenced to death, but their status would be determined in the light of what will be discussed during the visit, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Sources disclosed that the aircraft that will deliver Iraqi prisoners would be Saudi prisoners, the media silence on many details of the case was in its favour, in order to avoid some of the obstacles that some seek to find in order to delay this Convention, without mentioning what these actors.
Due to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki a recommendation for a presidential decree to pardon the Saudi detainees in the prisons of Baghdad, for the Presidency.
