Government program to streamline procedures in government departments
16/10/2017 12:00 am [rtl]The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Mahdi Al-Aalak, met during a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers with US Ambassador Joe Hood and the Economic Section team at the US Embassy on the program prepared by the Embassy to simplify procedures for administrative transactions in government institutions. "The Iraqi government is working hard to simplify the procedures in the Iraqi ministries in order to overcome the difficulties facing the citizen during his review to the government departments," the team said. The economic team reviewed, through a demonstration, the details of the program, which provides the citizen with the required documents and accurate information to review any government agency. The Deputy Ambassador confirmed the successful implementation of this program in a large number of countries, through which it was able to reduce the procedures of its departments significantly, including Guatemala, which implemented this program in 2012, as it was able to reduce its procedures in the registration of commercial companies from 41 steps to 4 steps , As applied by the Sultanate of Oman in 2013 and many other countries. In the meantime, the meeting was chaired by the Secretary of Baghdad, Zekri Alloush, a coordination meeting with the relevant authorities to discuss the mechanism for implementing the optical cable contract for the e-government project. The Secretary-General stressed during the meeting the importance of coordination between the concerned parties to the highest levels in order to remove the obstacles that may affect the completion of this project, referring to the recommendations of the Iraqi government and the follow-up of the Prime Minister, Dr. Haider Abadi, the need to accelerate the completion of infrastructure that serves the optical cable project Serves all state institutions and contributes to improving the level of services provided, accuracy in the completion of work and the development of performance by eliminating the traditional methods. The meeting also discussed the mechanism of coordination between the parties to avoid overlap in the implementation of the phases of the project with the other service sectors such as water and electricity networks and roads and obtaining the fundamental approvals to start the work by the implementing agency. The meeting recommended naming subcommittees for the field follow-up. The aim of this huge project is to unify the policies, procedures and foundations of information and communication technologies used by government agencies to increase the efficiency of the performance of technical systems and their contribution to the exchange of information between government agencies with great efficiency to shorten the lengthy procedures and contribute to access to a high efficient integrated electronic government that provides high quality services to citizens.
