Baghdad / ... The head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, on Sunday, that what is seen in the province of Basra from a humanitarian tragedy reveals the poor planning and waste of resources and wealth over the past years.
"We recall that the resolution of its crises should be part of a full-fledged rescue program covering all sectors in Iraq that will begin to hold the corrupt accountable and cause its current tragedies," he said in a statement received by Iraq News.
The province of Basra for weeks has been a suffocating crisis in the scarcity of drinking water because of the proportion of salinity and pollution of water and the expansion of the saline tongue of the Gulf across the Shatt al-Arab amid the inability of the local and federal governments to find quick solutions to the crisis.
