Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee Jamal Kujer confirmed, on Sunday, that the retirement fund is independent and its function is to obtain deductions from employees during their appointment and has nothing to do with the government, noting that the delay in the payment of pensioners ’salaries is surprising.
"The government sometimes, when it feels that there is financial distress due to low oil prices, will resort to the pension fund and the central bank," Cougar said in a statement to "The Information."
He added that "the State Employees Pension Fund is an independent body whose job is to obtain deductions from employees while they are appointed to state departments."
He pointed out that "the delay in the payment of pensioners' salaries is unjustified in any way," calling for "the necessity of knowing the reasons for the delay in exchange and are there real fears over the coming months." Ended / 25h
