Presidency of Parliament promised, on Thursday, that the targeting of Erbil airport is a desperate attempt to destabilize security and stability in the region and the whole of Iraq.
A member of the Presidency Council, Bashir Al-Haddad, condemned in a statement Mawazine News received a copy of, “the terrorist attack with a drone missile near Erbil airport last night, which resulted in damage to a nearby building, while his Excellency called on the security forces to continue investigations to determine the location of the missile launch and pursue the personnel. "The terrorist operative carried out and arrested them as soon as possible, to obtain their fair penalty according to the law.
Al-Haddad added, "The targeting of Erbil airport is a desperate attempt to destabilize security and stability in the region and the whole of Iraq, and these terrorist acts will not discourage the determination and will of the people of Kurdistan and the Iraqis to build and prosper," calling on the federal government to "conduct an urgent investigation and hold the perpetrators accountable."
He stressed, "the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation, and activating the agreements between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in the security and military field to hold land in soft areas and empty spaces between federal and Peshmerga forces and to protect citizens in all governorates of Iraq."
