    Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mrs. Jeanine Plasschaert.  
    The meeting discussed developments in the political situation in Iraq, the state of political impasse in the country, and the efforts made by the government to contain the crisis and protect civil peace in the country.  
    The meeting stressed the importance of supporting the national dialogue initiative called for by the Prime Minister, and adopting the dialogue approach as the only way out of the current political crisis, and a guarantor of Iraq's security and the stability of the local arena, in a way that meets the citizens' demands and aspirations for a safe and dignified life.  
    The meeting witnessed discussions on strengthening cooperation mechanisms between Iraq and the United Nations Mission in various files that support stability and community peace.
