    The Ministry of Construction and Housing announced, on Wednesday, the completion of the design of a number of cities in Nahrawan, Husseiniya, and others, with the aim of solving the housing crisis that is worsening in the country.
    The Director General of Housing at the Ministry, Sadiq Al-Fartousi, said in a statement reported by the official Al-Sabah newspaper, that "within urban planning, new cities have been designed outside the administrative borders of the current cities," revealing the completion of the design of a number of cities in Al-Nahrawan, Al-Hussainiya, and others.
    Al-Fartousi added, "There are 3 new cities in the Baghdad plan to reduce population density, and the preliminary designs for these cities have been completed, implemented by the Urban Planning Department," noting that his department "is trying to obtain the authority to acquire land for free, while the cost of services will be collected."
    Al-Fartousi announced that "the year 2023 will witness the launch of the National Housing Council's campaign," noting that "the most prominent obstacle to resolving the housing crisis is the pressure on the lack of funds and services that restricts the government's freedom."
    He continued, "We are counting on directing service projects, because services are the most important in order for cities to be viable, while attracting investors, providing them with support, and providing them with a suitable environment," calling for "taking into account the fragile classes."
