The Prime Minister, Mohamed Shia'a Al-Sudani, issued directives regarding the study of increasing the salaries of retirees.
And in marginalizing Al-Sudani over a parliamentary request to increase the salaries of retirees due to the difficult conditions they live in, in which he directed the advisory board to "complete the study that we had previously drafted on the subject."
On February 24, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, launched a package of regulatory measures in support of the retirees.
The procedures included "including retirees with a residential plot of land for non-beneficiaries, and disbursing a reward of 500,000 dinars to the employee on the day of his separation from his department."
The package also included "preparing the procedures for disbursing the (end of service) reward with the first salary he receives, providing the necessary financial allocations for this matter, and organizing the procedures for disbursing the amount of (cumulative leave) in cash upon the dismissal of the retired."
She indicated, "Granting retirees a 25% discount on Iraqi Airways (back and forth) for once a year, as well as granting retirees priority treatment outside Iraq at the expense of the state, as well as preparing the treatment of those referred to retirement before (six months) from the date of referral." This does not mean (referring to retirement) in order to prevent delays in the procedures, while ensuring that the pension is received on the specified dates.”
The package stressed the need to "prepare the retirement identity data (one month) before the date of the dissolution and secure its receipt without delay, complete the retirement transaction smoothly, and make sure that the deductions for the retirement contributions are paid, while not refraining from handing over the pension under the pretext of non-payment of the contributions."
And she stressed "coordination between the Ministry of Finance, banks and electronic payment companies, by adopting a mechanism to simplify the procedures for proving life certificate, in order to avoid the issue of stopping the salaries of retirees, and to complete the procedures for adding job service, especially for those referred to retirement."
It also pointed to "raising the level of formations for retirement in ministries and agencies not associated with a ministry and governorates to the level of departments, and in departments to the level of people."
