The Ministry of Education denied that schools were included in the decision of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to reduce official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan by one hour.

"The decision to reduce working hours announced by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers does not include school attendance," the official spokesman for the ministry, Karim al-Sayed, told the official newspaper.

He added, "The decision includes the directorates of education in Baghdad and the provinces, similar to state institutions, in which working hours have been reduced by one hour."

Last Wednesday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers directed to reduce the official working hours in state institutions, by one hour, either at the beginning or end of working hours.
