{Umniah: Al-Furat News} Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Ali Al-Bandawi, suggested today, Tuesday, that there is a majority opinion that there is no need to militarize society further, pointing out that the increase in the number of military types increases the deficit in the financial budget by no less than 60 trillion annually.
Al-Bandawi told {Al-Furat News} that "the number of members of the security forces from all types of military and security services exceeds one and a half million to two million security members. Therefore, there is an opinion among the Al-Alabiyah that there is no need to militarize society further by imposing compulsory conscription."
He added, "This matter transforms society from producer to consumer. In addition, passing any law requires billions of dollars to cover military expenses, and the budget every year suffers from a deficit of no less than 60 trillion annually, which leads to a very large increase in the burden on the budget." It is reflected in the performance of services to citizens.
