Referring 50% of the weight stations to investment

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities has completed the requirements for referring 50 percent of weight stations for heavy loads to investment.
The Ministry’s official spokesman, Engineer Nabil Al-Saffar, told Al-Sabah that a committee formed by a decision of the Council of Ministers in 2018 recommended that the file of the aforementioned weight stations be shared between the Ministries of Construction and Interior and the governorate administrations, to avoid any overlapping of powers between them, indicating that the number of stations Of which the referral requirements have been completed, 76 new stations are in need of rehabilitation.
Al-Saffar stated that the process of determining vehicle loads on external roads is very necessary, due to drivers’ non-compliance with the instructions issued in this regard, in addition to that this works to maintain and improve the validity of the roads and prevent damage to them.
