The observers said in interviews with Al-Sumaria News, “There is dissatisfaction among economic experts due to the migration of solid companies, and what happened with Shell is considered a continuation of a previous story of BP leaving the Mahnoun field.”

They added, "There are major problems with operators of licensing rounds, especially in the central and southern governorates, and administrative violations and financial corruption have occurred."

They continued, "The matter required canceling the field managers' security clearances with documents by the operator of the eastern Baghdad field," noting that "there are suspicions of corruption in some tenders for the same field by a member of the Oil and Gas Committee, who requested the intervention of the Public Prosecution to investigate the tender."
