    Information / Baghdad ..
The Speaker of the People's Assembly Hamouda Sabbagh stressed on Wednesday the importance of brotherly ties between the Syrian and Iraqi peoples, pointing out his country's aspiration to reopen the border crossings between the two brotherly countries.
"We in Syria are looking forward to reopening the border ports between the two brotherly countries and re-energizing bilateral relations in various fields to achieve their common interests," the Syrian media quoted Sabagh as saying during a meeting with the acting minister and charge d'affaires of the Iraqi embassy in Damascus Riad al-Tai.
For his part, al-Tai stressed the importance of deepening the ties between the Syrians and the Iraqis and overcoming all obstacles. He pointed out that "the meeting of the Syrian and Iraqi armies on the border is a victory and a strong will to defeat terrorism in the region."
For his part, President of the Syrian-Iraqi Brothers Association, MP Abdul Majid Al-Kawakibi, pointed to the importance of activating the Syrian-Iraqi Brothers Association and bilateral parliamentary relations. Ending / 25
