Agriculture announces an increase of 300 thousand tons of wheat production in nine provinces

The Ministry of Agriculture announced the achievement of an increase in quantity and quality of wheat crop received in nine provinces exceeded 300 thousand tons compared to the same period last year, while the Directorate of Agriculture Karbala marketing 2000 tons of crop seeds for the ministry to be used as seeds for the coming winter season.
The ministry spokesman Hamid Nayef said in an official statement to the newspaper "Sabah" official, there is an increase in the quantity and type of local production of wheat crop received from farmers in nine provinces are Maysan, Wasit, Karbala, Naf, Babil, Muthanna, Diwaniyah, Basra and Thi Qar exceeded 300 thousand tons compared to the same period last year with Continuing the marketing process in the western and eastern regions of the country and resuming the operation in the northern regions of the country.
He pointed out that his ministry continued to buy quantities of good wheat varieties, which are prepared as seeds for higher grades and will be distributed among farmers during the coming winter season, hoping that the local production of wheat crop to the extent of sufficiency.
