A Turkish newspaper reported on Wednesday that the Iraqi authorities have banned the importation of a number of Turkish products.
According to the newspaper "Zaman", the Iraqi authorities imposed a new ban on Turkish products, while awaiting to take positive action in response to the request of the Turkish Minister of Trade, Rohsar Bakgan, to cancel the current trade barriers in an effort to raise the volume of trade between the two countries to 20 billion dollars.
In May, the Iraqi authorities imposed a ban on exports of Turkish eggs. On June 1, Iraq banned exports of Turkish juices and ice cream, and recently joined salt, noodles and noodles for banned Turkish exports.
She pointed out that the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers will enter into force after 60 days and to last for one year.
"Turkey's export of pasta has stopped completely in line with Baghdad's decision," the head of the Association of Turkish Pasta Producers, Abdul Qadeer Kulahshioglu, was quoted as saying, citing the tense political relations between the two countries and Iraq's efforts to spread local production through existing pasta factories Inside ".
