Shafaq News/ The Lebanese government confirmed, today, Saturday, that Iraq will continue to supply it with oil, revealing at the same time that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, will soon visit Beirut.
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said, in press statements, that "Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani affirmed, during a meeting with him on the sidelines of the Gulf Arab summit, the continuation of cooperation to supply Lebanon with Iraqi oil in accordance with the previously stipulated agreements."

He added, "It was agreed to hold a meeting soon in Beirut for the Lebanese-Iraqi Joint Higher Committee, during the upcoming visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister."
Yesterday, Friday morning, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani met Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the Lebanese government delegation, on the sidelines of participation in the Riyadh-Chinese Arab Summit for Cooperation and Development, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting witnessed discussions on the overall bilateral relations, and cooperation between Iraq and Lebanon in various fields and levels, as well as coordination of positions in the face of global economic challenges affecting the entire region, according to a statement issued by the media office of Al-Sudani.
Iraq and Lebanon agreed to exchange energy, according to which Iraq would grant Lebanon, which is going through the worst economic crisis in its history, heavy fuel oil, in return for "services and goods" that Iraq would receive from Lebanon.
Fuel is a mixture of oils that remain in the oil refining unit after distillation (heavy fuel) and is burned in a furnace or boiler to generate heat or to generate electrical or kinetic energy.
