    Former Member of Parliament Wael Abdel Latif considered, on Thursday, that the solution to addressing the crisis lies in using the economic card by cutting the borders with Turkey for only two weeks.
    Abdul Latif said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, that "the country is following a wrong policy with Turkey, and all the discussions that took place between the two parties will not work," pointing out that "the solution lies in the government using the economic card by cutting the borders with it.”
    And he continued, "Closing the borders and cutting off trade with Turkey for a period of two weeks will force Turkey to release water quotas and put an end to the drought crisis that returned early," noting that "the scarcity began to become clear in Baghdad, so how will the situation be in the southern governorates, and Basra in particular?
    And he added, "If decisions are taken regarding cutting off trade with Turkey, the negotiations will turn to Baghdad."
    And the specialist in economic affairs, Muhammad Al-Saadi, had spoken earlier to Al-Maalouma agency, that “the value of trade exchange with Turkey reaches fourteen billion dollars annually, as Iraq's imports from Turkey for the first quarter of the current year exceeded 27% compared to previous years.” Ended 25 / y
