    [rtl]The Financial Control Bureau criticized the Ministry of Interior for contracting with the German company Veridos GmbH to provide support for the unified national card system worth about 40 billion dinars. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The court said in a report obtained by Al-Eqtisad News, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Eqtisad News, that the Ministry of Interior contracted with Veridos Gmbh on February 22, 2023, despite not providing the full financial allocation for the contract, which amounts to $30.6 million. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Court pointed out that the Ministry of Interior violated the instructions for implementing government contracts No. 2 of 2014, which stipulated the availability of financial allocations to provide goods, services or contracts. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He stressed that the ministry contracted with the German company despite the fact that it incurred losses during the years 2020 and 2021 amounting to 8.3 million euros, explaining that the contract between the company and the ministry in 2022 included the preparation of 5 million raw national cards at an amount of 17 billion dinars. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Court noted that the Ministry had contracted with the same company in 2013 through the Police Martyrs Fund to implement the requirements of the National Card Production Plant, but it was not implemented. The Ministry is still purchasing raw cards for millions of dollars, stressing that the Ministry justifies the failure to activate the Iraqi Card Factory due to the failure to reach an agreement between the Ministry and the factory on the selling price of raw cards. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Court pointed out that the Ministry contracted with this company using the single tender method, despite the lack of legal justification for using this method.[/rtl]
